BROKEN HILL LAND COUNCIL
Our Land Council continues to provide social housing to the Broken
Hill Community, Our social housing scheme provides safe affordable housing to our Aboriginal
community at considerably low affordable rent which is currently charged at below 75% of
market value.
The Broken Hill Local Aboriginal Land Council is SHAPE Approved through
the NSW Aboriginal Land Council. Our Land Council continues to provide a service to conduct
Cultural & Heritage surveys & has an MOU with Wilyakali the Traditional Owners for
this area.
The Broken Hill LALC has a partnership agreement with Deniliquin LALC and
Orange LALC to provide the Ability Links NSW (ALNSW) program in the Western Region of NSW.
Delivery of the Broken Hill LALC Ability Links program commenced on the 1st September 2014
to the following areas; Broken Hill, Menindee, Ivanhoe, Tibooburra, Wilcannia, Wentworth
Shire and Cobar.
The Ability Links NSW (ALNSW) is a way to support people with
disability, their families and carers as part of the on-going reforms of the disability
service system in NSW. The Broken Hill LALC Ability Links program helps people with a
disability, their families and their carers to become valued and equal members of their
community.Broken Hill Local Aboriginal Land Council Aboriginal Ability Links Program targets
Aboriginal people aged 0-64 with disability.
